The latest word is that Bey jacked her new single "If I Were A Boy" from a young unsigned singer by the name of BC Jean. BC allegedly wrote the melody and lyrics for the song, which is the first single off Bey's third album I Am...
The grapevine is claiming that BC didn't even realize the song her song had been swiped until recently. She originally recorded a dozen or so songs with German producer Toby Gad for his album, but Gad walked away with them and shopped them to major artists instead.
Now insiders tongues are wagging that Matthew Knowles aggressively pursued the publishing rights to the potential hit record with the goal of getting the rights to the song and putting Beyonce's name on the writing credits. According to sources, part of the deal is that the two singers will duet on BC Jean's debut album once she gets her own recording deal.
Rebel Talking... Whoa Bey, maybe you should change your album title to I Am... A Thief. Just sayin'! If this ain't some mess straight outta Dreamgirls...
