The trend these day's for most Basketballers is to play for a high power Prep school for the extra year to hone their skills, then log a couple of years in Div I College get drafted by their favorite Franchise (Which ever one
would draft them) get a couple years for one team
etc... etc..... It's 2008 even Proballers are Jumping ship to the Professional leagues overseas.
Two of M.O.E's favorite Basketball sons are no strangers to the overseas route Fred "The Razor"Williams with Argentina then Tochigi Brex of the JBL ( Japan Basketball League) and Corey "Homocide" Williams for the Townsville Crocodiles of Australia’s National
Basketball League, leading that team last week with 26.9 ppg 10.5 boards and 2.5 assist holding it down Down under (pause) Down under is what they call Austrailia for the slow folks. Another trend surprisingly enough pretty much beginning this year is NBA pro's going to overseas teams for the money and playing time.
Our own Andre Barrett instead of breaking another 7 footers heart (if you didnt know Dre beat out 7-foot-1-inch Luke Schenscher for the final spot on the 2006 roster) to go Overseas to
FCBarcelona not yet killing out there but he's well on the way.
Some dead weight leftt the league for cash Josh Childress who I think made the best move for himself received a three-year deal from Greek club Olympiakos worth about $20 million after taxes. It is far more than he would have received from any NBA team.
Earl Boykins is reportedly the highest-paid player in the Italian League and former New Jersey Net Bostjan Nachbar signed a three-year, $14.3 million deal with Dynamo Moscow. Many more to go and for the most part good riddence for bad rubbish
