The Watson Classic is celebrating its 10 year anniversary and doin’ it in style. Featuring some of the top ballers in NYC, tough unis, and Joe Pope on the MIC, WC is making a case to be mentioned among the top summer leagues in the mecca. Before my game with the Gym Rats on Sunday, I caught some highlights in the match-up between M.O.E. and Posse. Antawn “Anti-Freeze” Dobie, Kenny “Serious Satellite” Satterfield and Body Wide are just a few of the household names sportin’ orange for M.O.E. and they put a hurtin’ on Posse. K Satt continues to be unguardable in ‘09 with long-range shooting and foul-drawing drives to the cup.

Anti-Freeze made it clear to me that he is chasing Player of the Year honors this year after being “snubbed last year.” As if averaging 44 last summer in the Tournament of Champions wasn’t enough, this year Dobie is focused and ready to prove that he is the best in NYC. M.O.E. finished the game at 69-51 over Posse.
The Gym Rats lost its second game, but not before Bobbito got an earful from the announcer. Joe Pope was running late and I didn’t get a chance to get the name of his replacement, but he was hilarious! He said Bob was rockin’ a fade, caesar, fro and tape-up all in one. Bob might be rockin’ a du-rag for the rest of the season. He did drain a trey bomb from deep as the jokes were flowin’ though. It turned out to be a tough loss in a close game, but the Gym Rats continue to improve.
